It’s been two weeks since we returned home — and we’re still reflecting on the incredible experience our team had serving in Kenya. We’ve tried to find the right words. We’re not sure we fully can. But we’re going to try.
We Went to Give. We Came Home Changed.
We went to Kenya hoping to make a difference through dentistry. We came home with something we didn’t expect: hearts forever changed by the people we met.

The Full Story — From Beginning to End
August 7 — We Land in Kenya
Dr. Zachariah and our dental team arrived in Migori, Kenya ready to serve alongside Kenya Relief, Dr. Kuhl Dentistry, and Affordable Dentures & Implants. The community welcomed us with a warmth that immediately felt like home.
August 7–14 — Eight Days of Service
Every day our team worked alongside Kenya Relief’s local staff to provide exams, extractions, urgent dental care, and oral health education — often for patients who had never seen a dentist in their lives. We came with instruments. We stayed for the people.
The Orphanage Visit — A Moment We’ll Never Forget
The children at the local orphanage surprised our entire dental team with the most beautiful welcoming songs. Voices raised, faces full of joy — completely unashamed and completely beautiful. Every member of our team was moved to tears. These kids are the real stars of this trip.
August 15 — Final Goodbye
“Asante sana” — thank you so much. We told our new friends. We meant it more than we’ve ever meant anything. We boarded our flight home carrying a perspective on what matters most that we will carry with us always.
