Extractions

A dental extraction is the removal of teeth from the dental alveolus in the alveolar bone. Extractions are performed for a wide variety of reasons, but most commonly to remove teeth which have become unrestorable through tooth decay, periodontal disease, or dental trauma, especially when they are associated with toothaches. Sometimes impacted wisdom teeth cause recurrent infections of the gum, and may be removed when other treatments have failed.

TMJ (Temporomandibular Disorder)

TMJ refers to a variety of conditions that affect TM joints, jaw muscles and facial nerves. TMJ may occur when the jaw twists during opening, closing or side-motion movements. Treatment from The House of Dentistry can alleviate TMJ symptoms in many cases pending on the severity of your case. If you TMJ comes from teeth grinding or clenching, your dentist may recommend that you wear a custom dental appliance. Often called a bite plate or a splint, this appliance will keep your upper teeth from grinding against your lower teeth. This is all pending on the diagnosis.
