Deep Cleaning

Deep Dental Cleaning is also called periodontal scaling and root planning. It’s similar to how a hygienist typically cleans your teeth but focuses on the outer surface of the roots and below your gum line. This special cleaning is needed when tarter buildup has caused infection of your gums.

Scaling & Root Planning 

Scaling and root planing, is a procedure involving removal of dental plaque and calculus and then smoothing, or planing, of the exposed surfaces of the roots, removing cementum or dentine that is impregnated with calculus, toxins, or microorganisms, the etiologic agents that cause inflammation. This helps to establish a periodomtium that is remission of periodontal
